How to verify Groq is firing in normal use

1. 1. Profile narrative. Open a child's profile page. If the “What {name} brings” and “Where to grow together” sections mention specific dimensions and use the child's name multiple times, that's Groq. If they read generic (“they bring real curiosity to things they care about”), that's the fallback.
2. 2. Server logs. In the terminal running npm run dev, if Groq fails you'll see Groq generation failed: .... No log = success.
3. 3. Response timing. The profile page takes 2-4 seconds to load when Groq is firing (the AI call adds latency). Instant load = fallback.
4. 4. Digital activity questions. Open any digital activity (Look Closely, Two Worlds, etc.). If the questions reference your child's name or feel tailored to age, that's Groq.
