Once we've seen how your child engages with the first book and the digital activities, we pick each month's book to stretch a strength further or open a dimension we haven't touched yet.
Children aged 8–14 already spend 5–7 hours a day on screens (Common Sense Media, 2024). Adding a sixth or seventh hour through us would be both unethical and ineffective.
The physical book is where deep focus, drawing, slow thinking, and the parent-child conversation happen. The digital activities (which take 10–15 minutes each) are the fast feedback loops — light, frequent, additive. The book is the anchor.
Reading research consistently shows print outperforms screen for comprehension and recall in this age range (Mangen, 2013; Singer & Alexander, 2017). We use the medium the evidence supports.
