Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 August 2026
Welcome to Twinkle, made by ThinkHumanly Technologies ("ThinkHumanly", "we", "us"). These terms are a plain-English agreement between us and the parent or guardian ("you") who creates an account. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not create an account.
1. Who can use Twinkle
- Twinkle is for children roughly 8 to 14 years old, used with a parent or guardian.
- Only a parent or legal guardian may create an account. A child may not.
- By creating an account you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child you register, and that you consent to the collection and use of the child's information as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for deciding whether Twinkle is right for your child and for supervising their use of it.
2. What Twinkle is (and what it is not)
Twinkle is an AI companion. She talks with your child, remembers what matters to them, plays through worlds of ideas, and helps them learn to question, verify, and think for themselves. She is built for conversation, not for answers alone.
Twinkle is not a medical, psychological, or educational service. She does not diagnose, treat, or predict anything about your child, and nothing she says should be relied on as professional advice. Her "understanding" of your child is a set of tentative observations written as hypotheses, never as labels, grades, or comparisons. If you have concerns about your child's development, health, or wellbeing, please talk to an appropriate professional.
3. Accounts and sign-in
- You create the account with your email address and a password, or a time-limited magic link sent to that email.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One account covers the family's child profile. Your child's identity, memories, and progress travel with the account across the website, the app, and the Twinkle Anywhere extension.
- You may close your account at any time. We will delete the associated data as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. The free trial and subscriptions
- New accounts can try Twinkle free. The free experience includes a 7-day free trial of everything, and the first worlds remain free after the trial so the child can always come back to what they love.
- After the trial, a subscription (monthly or yearly, as shown on the pricing page) keeps the full experience running: all six worlds, Twinkle Anywhere, and the weekly notes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard or via the payment provider; the subscription continues until the end of the paid period.
- Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not store your card details. Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy.
- We may change prices, but we will email you before a price change takes effect, and the change applies only from your next renewal.
5. Twinkle Anywhere (the browser extension)
- The extension lets your child talk to Twinkle while reading the web. Only text your child explicitly selects and shares is sent to Twinkle.
- The extension does not require its own sign-in. It recognises your family through the account session in your browser, so a subscription unlocks it automatically.
- Remove the extension at any time from your browser's extension settings; that stops any further sharing.
6. Acceptable use
You agree that neither you nor anyone using your account will:
- use Twinkle to generate, distribute, or solicit harmful, abusive, or illegal content, or content that endangers a child;
- attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that are not yours, or interfere with the service;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or resell Twinkle or any part of it;
- share your account credentials or allow people outside your family to use the account;
- use Twinkle in a way that violates applicable law.
We may suspend access to an account that violates these rules, and we will tell the account holder why.
7. Content and ownership
- Twinkle's worlds, stories, characters, and software belong to ThinkHumanly (or our licensors). We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your family during your account.
- Your child's conversations and memories belong to your family. We use them only to provide the service and as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may use de-identified, aggregate information (for example, "how many families finished the first world") to understand and improve the product. This information cannot identify your child.
8. AI and expectations
Twinkle is an AI system. She is screened and guarded, but she is not infallible: she can misunderstand, and she can say something that is not quite right. We invest heavily in safety, and we expect parents to stay involved. If Twinkle ever says something that worries you, please tell us at contact@thinkhumanly.co. We take every report seriously, we will tell you what we find, and we will fix what needs fixing.
9. Termination
You may stop using Twinkle and close your account at any time, from the dashboard or by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, for conduct that endangers a child, or where the law requires it. On closure, we delete or anonymise personal data within 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Twinkle is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet any particular educational or developmental outcome. Your child's development is influenced by many things, and no part of Twinkle is a guarantee about them.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThinkHumanly is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is limited to the amounts you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, gross negligence, or harm caused intentionally.
11. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before any formal proceedings, we ask you to contact us at contact@thinkhumanly.co and give us 30 days to resolve the issue together. Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product grows. For material changes, we will email the account holder before they take effect. Continued use after a material change means acceptance of the new terms.
